COMPANY HISTORY
Carlson International was initiated in 1962., when noted musical arranger and publisher Fred Barovick (credits include musical production for recordings by Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley) established Carlson International as a record label from his Brill Building (1619 Broadway) New York office. He placed the management and A&R (artists & repertoire) auspice in the hands of Louis Ferriol, who had been employed as recording session engineer and, at times, co-producer at Tommy De Vito-Bill Upham owned Star-Upsonic Recording in Bloomfield, NJ.
By 1967, Ferriol expanded Carlson International to encompass talent management services. Then, in 1967, from offices at 250 West 57th Street. 'CI' entered into motion pictures and television with it's first feature, "Tomorrow Is Just Another Yesterday" and an array of syndicated local origination cable TV shows including the award winning "Spotlight On Entertainment" The production company employed it's own crew and teamed with accredited casting director/agent Dorothy Palmer to cast theatrical features.
Latching on to the burgeoning home video and urban cinema cult/horror movie-fantasy fads, CI inaugurated Vidimax Home Entertainment subsidiary in 1976 with "The Necrotic" (fansite link below) and "The New York Centerfold Massacre."
ln 2002, a new era began when Carlson International launched "Xoteria-TV" at Xoteria.com, which archives classic arts & entertainment, education- and information film, video and music.
